Internationally collected Atlanta-based artist Juanita Bellavance creates nature-inspired paintings that offer a sense of solace and tranquility. Largely self-taught, Bellavance draws inspiration from artists such as Diebenkorn, J.M.W. Turner, Giorgio Morandi, and William Thon. Her process begins with energetic marks, writing, and washes of color that evolve through multiple layers of pigment. Traces of the original gestures remain visible, creating depth, mystery, and a quiet sense of harmony.
